Next

Few week back, Solar Impulse demonstrated more than 24 hours of flight using solar power

Last year, a real fighter aircraft (X47B) completed initial flight tests while operated completely unmanned and now there is a real helicopter which has completed its initial successful flight tests with unmanned technology.

Next generation aircrafts are going to be unmanned systems, solar power, airships...

Will you cross the skies for me ?

Nice lyrics translated from tamil...

Why did you break my heart into fragments....
that I am not able to fix them together..

The Airshow

Yesterday, I went to see an airshow at Jones beach memorial day. It was amazing. This is the first airshow in US for me. It is also the first time I went to beach.

I had seen airshows in India four years back. This show also reminded me those days. It was lovely to watch the aircrafts demonstrating their capabilities.

I was surprised to hear one of the pilot had 25,000 hours of flying. Infact, he started flying at the age of 13. It is in advanced nation that things are attempted much earlier.

Another surprise added to me was a lady pilot performing aerobatic show with loops and flying near highstall regimes.

I could not even think that they were able to do all those aerobatics on sea. Flying over sea is much difficult than flying over land. I saw so many aircrafts doing formation so closely flying to each other. I could not even believe my eyes.

I wish I get my PPL sooner and fly my own aircraft sooner. This has been a long time dream.

A thought about my life and america

My life starts here at 5:30AM before sunrise. I get up and take shower and get ready to walk towards the LIRR station which is 25 minute walk from my house. I catch the 6:20AM train to Farmingdale and then I wait for 5 min for the next shuttle-bus. The bus starts at 7:10AM and I reach my office around 7:45AM.

The whole day goes on with preparation of simulation, fixing the leaks, catching the queue in the cluster...

Leave the office at 5pm and walk to the bus stop and wait for the shuttle and take a drop at the last stop which is the LIRR station at Farmingdale. Then the train comes on time and then I reach Hicksville and walk to home and I see the clock it is 730PM. Preparation of dinner and then sleeping and there was no time for movie and no time for TV and nothing was there in life..

During winter, the snowy roads are scary to walk... Thermal wear, and Jeans and Shirt and a jacket and a glove pair and a winter cap are the essentials of everyday. The train delay and cancellation, the powershutdown due to heavy snow fall are the weekly events..

America as I see...

In America, I feel...everything is tested to the extent that it can be. Be it playing capability, reading habits, health, love, money, power, age, sex, technologies like computer, aircraft, ship, boat, space shuttle. I also notice that children in US are much cleverer than other few countries that I knew. Perhaps, this is because they are taught the basics at much younger age and are given exposure to real life much earlier. Once I myself had to teach the students from 5th standard of some school near Arlington, Texas about the wind tunnel experiments, aircrafts capabilities. The experience with those students surprised me a lot.

In advanced countries, everything happens faster. On an average, people travel at 50mph overall and thereby reduce the time considerably in locomotion and which is used for other better capabilities.

In companies, tasks happen in a properly defined way. They are assigned and defined clearly and they are documented promptly.

Fuel, food prices have been constant with very little fluctuation for past 3 years unlike other countries where the prices of essential commodities keep rising.

There is a lot of love for the animals and severe punishment awaits the ones who endanger the life of the same.

Birthday

Another year passed again
as a lonely person

Again my heart and mind started thinking that
this year must be a good one
and I must get a girl who will love me sincerely

I wish she will care for everything I need
all the things I like
and meet my needs

Prayed God to keep me in top position always
so that I can plan to do more good things to people
And help the needy

Impressive lines

The song that I heard on V channel often when I was living in Bangalore

Making my way downtown
Walking fast
Faces passed
And I'm home bound

Staring blankly ahead
Just making my way
Making my way
Through the crowd

And I need you
And I miss you
And now I wonder....

If I could fall
Into the sky
Do you think time
Would pass me by
'Cause you know I'd walk
A thousand miles
If I could
Just see you
Tonight

It's always times like these
When I think of you
And I wonder
If you ever
Think of me

'Cause everything's so wrong
And I don't belong
Living in your
Precious memories

'Cause I need you
And I miss you
And now I wonder....

If I could fall
Into the sky
Do you think time
Would pass me by
'Cause you know I'd walk
A thousand miles
If I could
Just see you
Tonight

And I, I
Don't want to let you know
I, I
Drown in your memory
I, I
Don't want to let this go
I, I
Don't....

Making my way downtown
Walking fast
Faces passed
And I'm home bound

Staring blankly ahead
Just making my way
Making my way
Through the crowd

And I still need you
And I still miss you
And now I wonder....

If I could fall
Into the sky
Do you think time
Would pass us by
'Cause you know I'd walk
A thousand miles
If I could
Just see you...

If I could fall
Into the sky
Do you think time
Would pass me by
'Cause you know I'd walk
A thousand miles
If I could
Just see you
If I could
Just hold you
Tonight

Deceit

I worked hard all day those years
like a waterfall decorated the rocky mountain round the clock;
everyone around admired my work
as the tourists did;
yet on the judegement day the verdict was not in my favour;

neither the work remained with me as a decoration
nor the water remained with the rocky way
alas .....

the workplace appeared obsolete in mind
considering the failure as another passing cloud

legs walked, mind searched
as the waterflow continued in search
of The Destination

Bias in their eyes

One question came up constantly when he thought about those incident(s). Was it the bias in their eyes????

Innocence at its best

A three-year-old walked up to a pregnant lady while waiting with his mother in the doctors office.

He inquisitively asked the lady, "Why is your stomach so big?"

She replied, "I'm having a baby."

With big eyes, he asked, "Is the baby in your stomach?"

She answered, "He sure is."

Then the little boy, with a puzzled look, asked, "Is it a good baby?"

She said, "Oh, yes. It's a real good baby."

With an even more surprised and shocked look, he asked,

.

"Then why did you eat him?"
